Saul Ayon is a dedicated public servant, educator, and community leader with a lifelong commitment to service, both in and out of uniform.  He served on the McFarland City Council from 2020 to 2022 before being elected Mayor, a position he has held since 2022. He also represents the San Joaquin Valley and was elected to the Central Committee in 2024.  His commitment to local economic development is evident in his role as President of the McFarland Chamber of Commerce, a position I held since 2022 and serves a Board Member of Kern EDC. Keenly engaged in broader regional partnerships, he has been a member of Kern Council of Government (Kern Cog) since 2022. In March 2025 he received the Darrell Hildebrand Regional award for leadership from Kern Council of Governments.  Before entering civic leadership, he retired after serving 23 years of distinguished service from the Kern County Sheriff Department. He's an educator at McFarland Early College High School teaching Criminal Justice. Outside of public service, he was an amateur boxer, having qualified for the U S. Olympic Trials in 2024. Western states Champion, Golden Gloves, and Police and Fire Champion from 2002 to 2008. Above all, he's a proud husband and father of two outstanding sons, and continues to serve his community with integrity, vision, and heart. Serving LAFCo since 2021.
